Social Entrepreneurship Initiative To Launch In Athens
The importance, good practices, international experience and institutional framework of social entrepreneurship will be presented to the public next week through the introduction of a new initiative of the City of Athens and the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency.
The initiative “Epiheiro Koinonika” will be the beginning of an organized program of actions to promote social innovation and social entrepreneurship in Athens.
“Epiheiro Koinonika” will launch at The Hub Events venue (5 Alkminis Street, Kato Petralona, Athens) on 26 September and aims to:
- bring together stakeholders from the public and private sectors,
- support existing efforts of social enterprises, and
- inspire a new generation of Greek social entrepreneurs.
During the event, invited speakers from the field of social entrepreneurship will share their knowledge, ideas and experiences with the audience.
Presentations will be made by Greek and foreign academics, policy makers and representatives from the City of Athens, the Labor Ministry, the Development Ministry, the European Union, prominent international organizations (Skoll Center for Social Entrepreneurship, REVES) and active social entrepreneurs.
