Greek Museums, Sites See Increase In Visitors
Greek museums and archaeological sites saw an increase in visitation levels last May, according to the Greek statistical authority, ELSTAT.
According to ELSTAT figures, Greek museums recorded a 12.3 percent increase in visitors and a 9.9 percent increase in their receipts in May, compared to the same month in 2012.
Greek archaeological sites also saw a 25.5 percent visitation increase and a 13.9 percent rise in receipts, compared to May 2012.
In regards to visitation levels to Greek museums and sites during the first five months of 2013, ELSTAT showed data of a 17 percent increase of visitors to museums and a 8.1 percent rise in receipts, compared to the same period last year.
Archaeological sites also saw more visitors during the January-May 2013 period as a 30.8 percent increase was recorded along with a 20.8 percent increase in receipts, compared to the same period in 2012.
