New multi-year agreements secured with Worldspan and Galileo Global Distribution Systems (GDS) distributors
Travelport, a leading distribution services and e-commerce provider for the global travel industry, has announced the renewal of its long-term distribution agreements for Galileo and Worldspan GDS platforms in Lebanon.
Under the new multi-year deals, Gate 7 – who have been representing Worldspan in Lebanon for the past 15 years – and Travelport-Lebanon, appointed to represent Galileo since 2009, will continue to distribute Travelport products to the Lebanese travel industry.
Over the past 22 years, Travelport has established itself as the leading GDS provider in Lebanon. In 2012, Travelport solidified its commitment to the country with the establishment of a regional Levant headquarters in Beirut to oversee the growing travel agency network across Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Syria.
“We are delighted to continue our mutually-beneficial relationship with Gate 7 and with Travelport-Lebanon,” said Rabih Saab, President and Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Travelport.
“During their time as Travelport’s distributor partners, both companies have continued to build on our solid track record in Lebanon, effectively delivering our products and services to the travel agent community, and growing our footprint across the region,” Mr. Saab said.
“In the 15 years as Travelport Worldspan distributor, our focus has always been on maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty by offering enhanced services as well as new and innovative technology”, said Mahmoud Ayache, owner, Gate 7.
“Under the new agreement, Worldspan customers in Lebanon will continue to benefit from our regional expertise and Travelport’s latest products and solutions,” Mr. Ayache said.
