Greek Overnights On The Up In Thessaloniki
During the first half of 2013 and for the first time in four years, the number of Greek overnights in hotels of Thessaloniki recorded an increase, according to the Thessaloniki Hotels Association.
According to data, during the January-June period, Greek overnights in hotels of Thessaloniki increased by 6.67 percent to 452,848 compared with the same period last year. In 2012 the northern Greek city welcomed 424,551 Greeks.
Moreover, in absolute numbers, the total of overnights in Thessaloniki’s hotels during the first six months of the year added up to 812,040 compared to 860,533 overnights last year, which shows a drop of 5.2 percent.

- Russians – 35,698 overnights (62.21 percent increase from 2012)
- Cypriots – 31,765 overnights (9.65 percent increase)
- Turks – 28,556 overnights (50.1 percent increase)
- Israelis – 26,854 overnights (67.92 percent increase)
- Italians – 19,562 overnights (4.09 percent decrease from 2012)
- Bulgarians – 18,285 overnights (19.87 percent increase)
- Germans – 16,404 overnights (1.81 percent increase)
- Americans – 14,805 overnights (10.85 percent increase)
- Serbs – 14,066 overnights (38.28 percent increase)
- Romanians – 13,638 overnights (38.36 percent increase)
