Kefalogianni Presents National Plan For Greek Tourism
The Greek Tourism Ministry announced its “national plan for tourism” that aims to increase international arrivals to 24 million by 2020 so Greece will be among the 10 most recommended worldwide tourism destinations.
During a recent speech in Parliament, Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said the ministry’s “national plan for tourism” is based on four pillars:
- Boosting entrepreneurship and facilitating investment through funds of the NSRF and the new development law
- Enriching the tourism product through the development of special and alternative forms of tourism (marine, medical/health, religious/pilgrimage, gastronomy, sports, conference, Agrotourism, etc.)
- Assuring the quality of tourism infrastructure
- Investing in Greece’s human resources by upgrading training and creating new job positions
According to the minister, Greece’s tourism strategy includes the improvement of the quality of services provided in the country so the average per capita expenditure per tourist would increase.
