Hellenic Seaways, Interamerican To Renew Medical Assistance Program For Travelers
Hellenic Seaways (HSW) and Interamerican recently announced the renewal of the “Safely Together” emergency medical assistance program for travelers.
“Safely Together” was first launched in 2010 and is specially designed by Interamerican for all HSW passengers. The program lasts from the moment passengers board the ship up to seven days after the end of the journey.
Apart from the basic provisions of Interamerican emergency medical assistance, “Safely Together” offers a series of additional provisions to help passengers and their families comprehensively deal with the consequences of a potential accident or unforeseeable health incident.
Specifically, the coverage provided in case of passenger illness or accident is the following:
- Health transport of the policyholder
- Repatriation of family members that are traveling with policyholders
- Hospital coverage abroad
- Care for the underage children of the policyholder
- Ticket for a close relative in order for him/her to be with the policyholder in case of hospitalization
- Coverage of hotel accommodation expenses for the close relative.
Furthermore, for any unforeseeable health problem at sea and up to 7 days after the end of the journey, experienced Interamerican doctors of various specialties are available by calling the 1010 Health Line from a fixed line or mobile telephone and are at the disposal of policyholders 24 hours a day in order to provide medical advice and instructions.
Also, if necessary, specialized personnel will organize and coordinate health transfer to a hospital using a suitable vehicle (ambulance, helicopter or airplane) in order to provide the necessary health care as quickly as possible.
