Santorini: The Mediterranean’s Most Popular Destination
Santorini leads the list of the 20 most popular destinations in the Mediterranean, according to online booking company Trivago.
According to Trivago’s list, Crete and Santorini are the first destinations to come to the mind of travelers when they hear the word “Mediterranean.” Greek destinations occupy four of the five top places on the list.
Specifically, Imerovigli (Santorini) is in the first place with a popularity rate of 85 percent, followed by Fira (Santorini), Capri (Italy), Chania (Crete) and Rethymno (Crete).
One more Greek destination is included in the top 20 Mediterranean destinations. In the 17th place is Agios Nikolaos (Crete).
