Costa Navarino in Messinia, southwest Peloponnese, recently launched its new contemporary art platform in a bid to brand the resort as a meeting point for artists and art lovers.
The platform is called “Costa Navarino: Engaging Art” and is an innovative art concept aiming to become a permanent platform for contemporary visual arts.
Exhibition
The platform’s debut exhibition is named “60 Picks Per Minute” and features four in-residence artists -Dimitrios Antonitsis, Jeffrey Apoian, Konstantinos Ladianos and Dionisis Christofilogiannis- who will present their work in solo exhibitions.
The main point of the art concept is that the artists will interact with guests staying at Costa Navarino’s two hotels (The Westin Resort and The Romanos) and dynamically engage them in the creative process of their new work being created during in situ workshops.
Guests will be given the opportunity to participate as active observers and/or co-creators.
The permanent exhibition space will be housed in The Westin Resort.
The “60 Picks Per Minute” exhibition is curated by conceptual artist Dimitris Antonitsis and will run until early October.
