Greek Tourism Minister To Travel To U.S., Canada
Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni will take an official trip to the United States and Canada as of Sunday, 2 June, to promote Greece in the North American market.
During her visit, Mrs. Kefalogianni intends to inform on Greece’s improved economic and political climate, present the country’s comparative advantages in tourism and invite expatriates and American and Canadian citizens to holiday in Greece this year.
On Monday, 3 June, the tourism minister will meet with Archbishop Demetrios of America, to discuss issues of the Greek Diaspora.
On Thursday, 6 June, Mrs. Kefalogianni will arrive in Toronto and on Friday, 7 June, she will participate in an annual event of the Hellenic Heritage Foundation (HHF). This foundation, which promotes Greek culture in Canada, is charitable and non-profit.
According to an announcement, during her stay in the U.S. and Canada, the tourism minister will have a number of meetings with travel agents of the Diaspora and representatives of leading foreign tour operators.
She will also give interviews to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, major travel magazines and TV networks CNN and CNBC.
