Greek Tourism Minister Welcomes Chinese Delegation In Athens
“The Greek Tourism Ministry aims to make Greece the top tourism destination in Europe for the Chinese,” Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said in Athens today, 21 May, when she received a delegation from the All-China Journalists Association headed by the representative of the People’s Republic of China, Zhao Liyng.
Mrs. Kefalogianni informed the delegation on the major changes taking place in Greece over the past two years and expressed the country’s interest to further strengthen Greek-Chinese relations in the tourism industry.
In this context, the tourism minister announced that Greece would participate in an international tourism exhibition to be held this October in China.
Mrs. Kefalogianni also assured the Chinese journalists that Greece would follow up on “all agreements signed between the two countries since 2006.”
In regards to visa facilitation for Chinese travelers to Greece, the tourism minister said the ministry was taking “all necessary measures.”
Tourism Minister’s visit to China
Mrs. Kefalogianni also informed the Chinese delegation on her talks with the chairman of China’s National Tourism Administration, Shao Qiwei, during her recent visit to China as part of the Greek Prime Minister’s delegation.
According to reports, Mr. Qiwei invited her to visit China again this fall to discuss agreements expected to significantly increase Chinese tourist arrivals to Greece.
