Greek Cuisine Goes To European Parliament
Sixty Greek chefs will attend and present contemporary Greek cuisine and give MEPs in Brussels the chance to sample dishes with the finest local products at an event to be held in the European Parliament on Wednesday, 10 April.
The presentation will take place following the invitation of Greek MEP from the German Liberal Party, Giorgos Chatzimarkakis, and will be held under the auspices of the Greek Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
At the event entitled “Traditional Greek Gastronomy in a Modern Presentation at the European Parliament,” chefs from different parts of Greece will present five different themed buffets of traditional dishes from Greek regions to some 150 guests.
Prior to the presentation of local Greek dishes, a workshop will take place in the European Parliament on “Increasing Greek agricultural productivity through Quality Boost» that will include many speakers, such as the Minister of Rural Development and Food Athanasios Tsaftaris, President of the Hellenic Chef’s Federation, Miltos Karoubas and Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris.
