Athens Aims To Attract More Russian Visitors
Destination Athens will be included in travel packages promoted in the Russian Market to boost visits to the Greek capital, the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (EATA) announced recently following its participation in this year’s MITT exhibition in Russia (21-23 March).
At a forum on Greek tourism held by Mouzenidis Travel, one of the largest Greek companies working with the Russian market, it was made known that Athens would be included as a destination in the company’s travel packages.
During the forum, a full presentation of Athens was given to an audience of some 600 foreign tourism professionals and journalists.
The agency’s press officer, George Angelis, showed a different “face” of Athens and spoke in regards to the benefits of promoting leisure packages in the Greek capital that combine a coastal holiday with visits to Greece’s important archaeological sites.
The presentation focused on the Greek city’s unique cultural and natural features, modern infrastructure, excellent hotel capacity and plethora of options and services that may be offered to Russian visitors.
According to the agency, during the MITT exhibition, many foreign tour operators and travel agents showed a first-time interest in the Greek capital as a destination ideal for incentive trips and corporate meetings.
