Greek Travel Agents Strengthen Ties With Turkey And Germany
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA) and Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) during the open session of HATTA’s annual general assembly today, 27 March, in Athens.
During his opening speech, HATTA’s president, Yiorgos Telonis, made special reference to the recent establishment of a Working Group for Greek tourism with the German Travel Association (DRV). The working group will be comprised of representatives of Greek and German travel agencies and aim to improve Greece’s competitiveness in the German market. Its first meeting will be held in Berlin on 13-14 June 2013.
The latest developments of the schengen visa issue were referred to by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos and Minister of Transport Kostis Hatzidakis spoke in regards to changes in the country’s road passenger transport.
On his part, Greek Secretary General of Tourism Anastasios Liaskos delivered a speech on the new development prospects of Greek tourism and focused on the Greek Tourism Ministry’s strategy to strengthen entrepreneurship.
German Travel Association (DRV) President Jürgen Büchy and Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) President Başaran Ulusoy referred to opportunities for cooperation and tourism development in Greece with Germany and Turkey, respectively.
