KLM Introduces Renewed European Product Αnd Price Policy
KLM offers passengers customized service in Europe.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced it will offer flights to more than 30 European destinations at competitive prices with effect from 22 April 2013.
KLM also said it will separate baggage from the ticket price. This means that with effect from 22 April 2013, passengers in economy class will be charged 15 euros for one piece of hold baggage per flight to destinations within Europe.
KLM is launching this renewed business model within Europe in response to changing customer behavior: many existing passengers already travel without hold baggage in Europe.
According to KLM, passengers increasingly want to “customize” their journeys and this can be achieved through paid options, products and services including seat choice, more legroom (Economy Comfort) and, in time, paid lounge access. Customers are free to choose.
Customers who are – or become – members of the Flying Blue Frequent Flyer loyalty program are exempt from the extra charge. This also applies to contracted Corporate Clients, BlueBiz members and passengers in possession of a fully flexible ticket (Y and B classes).
