First Greek Roadshow In Southeast Asia To Kick Off In 2013
Greece will be introduced to three capital cities of the Southeast Asia market next year through the first Roadshow of its kind that will aim to engage Greek tourism professionals with travel agencies that specialize in outgoing tourism from Southeast Asia, a new and promising market.
The Greek Roadshow is scheduled to take place from 30 March 2013 until 6 April 2013 and visit Bangkok, Thailand; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In seven days, more than 100 buyers will meet selected Greek tourism professionals and representatives of Greek destinations to develop strong business partnerships.
The Roadshow is organized by Travel Media Applications and follows the company’s recent launch of the innovative tourism portal TravelDailyNews Asia-Pacific.
According to Theodore Koumelis, CEO of Travel Media Applications, the first Greek Roadshow in Southeast Asia will target potential customers directly and aim for an immediate outcome in the shortest possible time.
“Today more than ever, all types of economic or other crises, along with international competition, have increased the need of new communication campaigns and marketing activities for the Greek tourism industry,” he said.
Data has shown that tourist traffic to and from Southeast Asia is following an upward trend due to improvements in air connections and the steady increase of direct flights to and from Asia.
According to Mastercard International, the people of Southeast Asia travel to Europe mainly in April, during their New Year holidays, and tend to visit big cities where they shop and explore nature.
Greek hoteliers, tour operators, representatives of destinations and conference organizers are invited to participate in the scheduled Roadshow and explore possibilities for cooperation with the Southeast Asian tourism market.
The Roadshow will take place under the auspices of the Pacific Asia Travel Association.
