Nature Festival Focuses On Crisis
The secretary general of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE), George Vernicos, was among the speakers at the open discussion held on the necessity of environmental action during a period of crisis on Sunday, 4 November, at Moraitis School.
The discussion was held within the framework of the “Festival of Nature” organized by the Alumni Association of the Moraitis School in collaboration with 26 Environmental & Animal Welfare NGOs.
Under the topic “Environmental action during a period of crisis: A luxury, a necessity or a solution?”, active citizens discussed the opportunities and risks posed by the current crisis in the management of environmental issues.
Representatives of Greek political parties that deal with environmental issues, local government, environmental and animal welfare organizations and scientists took part in the discussion.
The Festival of Nature was a celebration about nature and animals that aimed to raise awareness and public involvement on ecological, environmental and animal welfare issues.
The Environmental & Animal Welfare NGOs that took part in the festival included Arcturus, Archelon, HWH, Greek Society for Environment and Culture, Greek Society for the Protection of Nature, Greek Ornithological Society, Hellenic Riding Club, ESPI, ZO.FI.PSY., Ocean Mediterranean SOS, Museum of Natural History, Earth Tour, National Animal Welfare Federation, Peliti, PRO.ST.A.TE.Y.O., SYN.DR.A.MO, Organization Management Parnitha National Park, Anima, GAWF, Greenpeace, Green Project, Hippolysis, Medasset, Monumenta, WWF and the program Youth in Action implemented by the General Secretary Youth with INEDIVIM.
