Turkish Airlines Eyes Kozani, Northern Greece
“Turkish Airlines aims to promote all of Northern Greece,” the director of Turkish Airlines in Thessaloniki, Utku Yazan, said recently after holding talks with key tourism figures in Kozani, Northern Greece.
During his visit, Mr. Yazan met with Kozani Mayor Lazaros Maloutas and was briefed on Kozani’s tourism potential and expressed his interest to cooperate with the municipality to promote Kozani as a tourism destination.
Discussions also included the possibility of promoting the city’s local products on the airline’s flights between Northern Greece and Turkey as well as throughout the rest of the world through its global network.
“With the proper support, coordinated and targeted actions, the region could become an attractive tourism destination for travelers from around the world, 365 days a year,” he said.
Mr. Yazan also met with the head of the local Greek National Tourism Organization office, Alexandra Liapopoulou, and was informed on the region’s many unique natural attractions and important monuments of previous historical periods.
Mr. Yazan and Ms. Liapopoulou agreed to establish a joint action plan for the promotion of the region in tourism markets of Turkey and the rest of the world.
