Russians Offer Bird’s Eye View Of Greece

The Acropolis, Ancient Agora, districts in Athens and Piraeus, Meteora, Mykonos and Santorini will soon be promoted panoramically through high-resolution images “caught” by renowned Russian group Airpano.
AirPano is a non-commercial project focused on high-resolution 3D aerial panoramas and is consisted of Russian photographers and panorama enthusiasts. The group’s ambition is to create virtual 3D tours of the most interesting destinations of the planet.
The group was recently invited to Greece by City Contact company and Athens Walking Tours.
According to the CEO of City Contact, Yiannis Yiannakakis, the initiative mainly aims to promote Greece to a young international audience via the Internet.

“This is also a first-class promotion to the Russian market, a market of great importance for Greek tourism today since one million Russian guests, who are high-income tourists, are expected in our country this year,” he said.
The panoramic images will be available on website www.airpano.com within the next three months and millions of website visitors are expected to admire the beauties of Greece.
