Travelport Presents New Technology Tools For Greek Travel Agents
Travelport, a broad-based business services provider to the global travel industry, held a workshop last month for agencies in Thessaloniki and briefed travel agents on the company’s new tools and solutions.
Particular emphasis was given to the Travelport Smartpoint App, a new add-on application for the Galileo Desktop that marks a significant evolution in the way Galileo-connected agents book travel.
The application speeds up the reservation process, reduces call handling time and improves the agent user experience.
Travelport Smartpoint App evolves the Galileo Desktop with dynamic and interactive technology to improve travel consultant productivity and customer service by combining efficiency of command entries with clarity of graphical overviews and click-through
links.
According to Travelport, the industry is expected to enthusiastically adopt the application, as it is easy to install, becomes operational extremely fast and provides intelligent system translation capabilities. In other words, it supports other GDS languages, eliminates the need for re-training, and allows any user to hit the ground running with the GDS language they are used to.
In addition, Greek travel agents that use different application programming interfaces (APIs) and connectivity tools to access, shop and book travel content from multiple sources, were happy to be informed on the Travelport Universal API.
“It is the global distribution system (GDS) industry’s first truly universal API that gives agents access to a world of content and functionality through a single API connection,” Travelport said.
Travel Agents that access worldwide low cost carriers, high speed rail providers and multi-GDS content via a single API can avoid the clutter of multiple programming interfaces, while saving valuable time and money.
Travelport’s next workshop for travel agents will take place in Athens this coming fall.
