IFITT Greece Presented To Greek Professionals

During IFITT Greece’s inaugural event, Professor Dimitrios Buhalis, chairman of IFITT International, presented a series of technological innovations that promote tourism and referred to developments in research and worldwide trends in the tourism industry.
“Technology is the only opportunity to develop tourism in Greece and overcome the economic crisis,” was one of the many conclusions drawn during the official presentation of the Greek chapter of the International Federation for IT in Travel and Tourism (IFITT) held recently at the Hilton Athens.
IFITT Greece’s inaugural event was held under the main title “Information Technology & Tourism Competitiveness” and included a high level presentation of the global trend of e-tourism.
IFITT is an exclusive organization that aims to merge the global academic community of eTourism with business and tourism vendors and improve the tourism infrastructure by always using new information and communication technologies.
“In Greece there is a gap in the working relationship between the academic community and the tourism industry and IFITT Greece aims to cover this gap and create ground for cooperation and development,” IFITT Greece’s chairman Dimitris Serifis said.
Greek Travel Pages (GTP) was among the media sponsors of the event.
