TRAINOSE Offers Cheaper Fares, Upgrades Services
Greek train operator TRAINOSE, a subsidiary of Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE), dropped its ticket price last month for the Athens-Thessaloniki route and announced a series of new services to be established in the coming months.
The budget price is valid for early online bookings and concerns 45,000 discount seats out of a total 210,000 a month, with 10,000 available for nine euros, 15,000 for 19 euros and 20,000 for 29 euros.
As of this month, the train operator will provide free WiFi service and continuous signal for mobile phones to all onboard passengers.
TRAINOSE will also establish a new door-to-door passenger service called “Train-Taxi” for those traveling from Thessaloniki, Larissa, Volos and Katerini. The service involves the use of a taxi before or after a train journey trough the purchase of a special price package.
In addition, for the first time ever, train passengers will receive compensation due to delays.
The new compensation policy concerns all routes and does not apply to passengers that have booked a discount ticket.
