Travelport Signs New Agreements, Launches New Portal
Travelport, one of the world’s leading global distribution system providers, recently signed a five-year full content agreement for Galileo and Worldspan-connected users worldwide with Kenya Airways. The agreement enables users to gain access to the airline’s full inventory of flights and fares, including web fares.
Kenya Airways, a recent Skyteam member, has scheduled flights to more than 50 global destinations including an extensive network in Africa.
Additional recent agreements of Travelport include an extension of a full content distribution agreement with United Airlines and a renewed agreement with Cathay Pacific. The two-year extension agreement with United Airlines is designed to provide full content well into 2013.
The five-year deal with Cathay Pacific gives Travelport’s extensive network of travel agency customers worldwide access to the airline’s fares and inventory of flights, with full booking functionality.
Travelport also announced in September that Carlson Wagonlit Travel in the UK is its first customer for its new hotel bill back system-hotelNett, a solution that negates the need for business travelers to directly settle their own hotel bills.
In addition, travel agents were pleased with the launch of Travelport’s new, one stop leisure portal -Travelport Leisure- in the summer. The portal is an upgraded version of its former Galileo Leisure portal launched five years ago.
