HATTA Voices Concern For Coastal Shipping
The Hellenic Association of Travel and Tourist Agencies (HATTA) appealed to the Greek government and relevant agencies last month to guarantee conditions for the rational operation of coastal shipping.
“Greek coastal shipping, the main pillar of Greek tourism’s development and a crucial factor for the country’s social and economic development, is facing serious problems, which have not been resolved for many years,” HATTA stressed in a letter to the relevant agencies.
According to HATTA, the continued and sufficient connection of the Greek islands must be ensured and third party levies must be abolished in order for ticket prices to be reduced.
In conclusion, HATTA called all relevant agencies to take part in a dialogue so coastal shipping could influence the country’s tourism development.
