Hotels Get Digital Support

The Special Secretariat for Digital Planning of the Ministry of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping recently announced the approval of 2,143 investment proposals to take part in the Digi-Lodge funding program for hotel lodgings.

The digi-lodge program (for the digital support of tourism businesses for creating websites and computer reservation systems) is part of the operational program “Digital Convergence” (NSRF 2007-2013) and addressed to over 9,000 hotels and 20,000 lodges that operate in Greece.

Of the 2,829 businesses that submitted investment proposals, 2,143 were approved following an evaluation process. The budget of the approved proposals is 32.19 million euros.

The program offers a 60 percent subsidy of the investment budget that will be paid upon completion of the investment.
The overall budget for the digi-lodge program is 45 million euros, of which 80 percent comes from the European Regional Development Fund and 20 percent from national resources.
