Navarino Environmental Observatory Officially Announced
The operation of the Navarino Environmental Observatory (NEO) was officially announced recently during a ceremony at the Academy of Athens.
The Navarino Environmental Observatory (NEO), to operate in Costa Navarino in Messinia, is the first international environmental observatory dedicated to the study of climate change in Greece.
NEO is an initiative of the joint effort of Bert Bolin Center for Climate Research at Stockholm University, the Center of Environmental Health and Biophysics of the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens and TEMES S.A.
In parallel with the Navarino Environmental Observatory, TEMES will operate the Navarino Natura Hall, an interactive environmental exhibition center within Costa Navarino. The aim of the Navarino Natura Hall will be to raise awareness on environmental protection issues among the public and young people in particular.
