Prespes Mayor Seeks Tourism Flow
The Municipality of Prespes is making efforts to simplify access to the region in an effort to attract more tourists to the Transboundary Prespa Park.
During a recent press conference Prespes Mayor Lazaros Nalpantidis said that the municipality is dissatisfied with the low tourist traffic to the region, which is located at the borders between Greece, Albania and FYROM.
Mr. Nalpantidis stressed that he recently suggested the establishment of sea and land links with Albania and FYROM so visitors can have easier access to the park.
“We have already constructed docks in villages of Megali Prespa and we will do the same in Mikri Prespa,” said the mayor.
The Municipality of Prespa has 420 beds in an area of some 500,000 stremma that includes the mountainous Pisoderi ski center.
The Transboundary Prespa Park was established with a joint declaration between Greece, Albania and FYROM in 2000.
