Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, recently announced the launch of Amadeus Hotel Store.
This is a new solution that integrates hotel consolidator content in the booking process and will be available for travel agencies without any charge.
Amadeus’ launch partner for this solution is Transhotel, a global hotels consolidator.
In addition, Amadeus announced that the number of hotels that use services through its global distribution system has reached 80,000, a figure that offers many options to travel agencies and even more opportunities for participating hotels.
Hotel reservations made through the Amadeus GDS for the first nine months of 2008 increased by 7.4 percent over the same period in 2007, which offered hotels using the system revenue that reached 1.7 billion euros.
Amadeus also signed a five-year agreement with Emirates through which travel agencies will have the ability to access the airline company’s full content.
