Galileo Signs Agreement With Galileo Hellas
Galileo, a leading global distribution system (GDS) and subsidiary of Travelport, renewed its long-term distribution agreement with Galileo Hellas, the government-owned travel distribution company, to distribute Galileo GDS to the Greek and Cypriot markets.
The new agreement is an extension of a long-standing relationship with Galileo Hellas as the distributor of Galileo for these markets.
Bryan Conway, managing director for Galileo in Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, “Galileo has been the system of choice for Greek and Cypriot travel professionals for many years and this is great news for both parties as well as our customers who will continue to benefit from the latest world-leading product offerings designed to help them manage their businesses more efficiently.
“As the Greek government is currently considering the potential privatization of Galileo Hellas as part of the re-structuring of Olympic Airways, we are prepared to work closely with them and any new owner of the business to continue distributing Galileo in the market.”
John Sakellion, CEO of Galileo Hellas, said, “Since Galileo’s establishment in Greece in 1991, we have been a leading company in our sector in the tourism industry. Our vision is to position the company once again in a leading market position by providing advanced technology products, innovative tools and high quality services both in Greece and Cyprus.”
