Olympus Plaza Food Parks, a group of companies formed by Everest (a food company with 51% ownership of Olympic Catering) and Macedonian Shipping Agencies (providers for transport, tourism and the cruise ship companies), continues its expansion program.

The group has already built and operates the seven complexes on highways running from Athens to the country’s northern frontier, and its catering arm supplies and manages 125 points on Greek ferry vessels.

Another complex, one of its newest, is located within the commercial zone of Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport Athens with building installations of 1,000 square meters on 60,000 square meters of land.

All the complexes are designed according to very high quality standards and are considered among the best in Europe in their category.

And besides a variety of tastes at the Olympus Plaza Food Parks -Everest, Papagallino, La Pasteria, Ever-Rest, Deli Market- visitors are afforded services rarely found elsewhere.

For example, many of the rest areas offer business corner facilities (public fax, e-mail, internet access points), automated bank services via ATM’s, and general tourist information (by contacting the reception officer). Even buying boat or airplane tickets is easy in some highway rest areas. And some units even offer the weary visitor a refreshing shower (especially reserved for travelers).

Nikolaos Mouses, the president and managing director of the Olympus Plaza Food Parks, says the competitive advantage of our concept is that in the same food court the traveler can choose between brand names of the most popular market-leading chains in Greece.

Olympus was recently awarded an ISO 9001:2000 certificate (in offering catering products and services), and the HACCP safety system standard (in producing and distributing catering products).

Τhe Highway Rest Areas operate alongside the national highways, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
Special care is also taken for handicapped persons: public areas are easily accessible, especially designed/equipped WC’s are at their disposal.

Loyalty programs of highway rest areas, tailor-made for coach and truck drivers offer exclusive benefits to their cardholders-members (discounts, happy-hour events, participation in contests, etc.). Some programs also include benefits for traveling sales persons or generally frequent visitors of the rest areas.
