Greek railways operator Ergose has announced that the Athens-Thessaloniki rail line is now open and will be fully operational by the end of the month, following the completion of the Lianokladi-Domokos segment near Lamia.
Works on the railway aiming to reduce travel time from Athens to Thessaloniki down to three hours are proceeding, according to Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis.
Ways to tap into the expansion of combined transport and upgraded infrastructure were explored during the 1st conference on "Infrastructure and Transport in Greece: Prospects for Development” held in Athens.
