IEK Orizon Contributes To Kalamata’s Tourism Profile
IEK Orizon was established to fill in the void of post-secondary education in the region of southern Peloponnese, as it is the first private Institute of Vocational Training (IEK) in Kalamata, the capital of Messinia.
Kalamata is the 10th largest city in Greece and in recent years has been included among Greece’s emerging tourism destinations. Growing tourist numbers have led to an increasing demand for high quality services in the hotel and food service sectors.
Aiming to contribute to the tourism development in the region of southern Peloponnese and supply the market with high-level professionals, IEK Orizon offers the following majors:
- Hospitality and F&B Specialist
- Cooking Art Technician (Chef)
In order to bring out an even greater competitive tourism profile for Kalamata, IEK Orizon’s goal is to link education to the labor market by providing professional training for high-demand job positions.
IEK Orizon is housed in modern, privately owned facilities in Kalamata and aspires to provide high quality education services through the input of highly qualified instructors and well-equipped laboratories (culinary arts, restaurant housekeeping).
Moreover, particular emphasis is made on the curriculum (extra cooking workshops, learning of Russian language, etc.) so graduates enter the labor market with the most powerful business supplies.
