Egypt’s Electronic Visa Available for Greeks

Greeks wanting to travel to Egypt can now avoid embassy appointments and apply for an online visa from their home, after the country recently launched its electronic visa services.

Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday officially launched the Electronic Travel Authorization (e-visa) for foreign nationals to travel to Egypt, during the annual Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Cairo. The Egypt online visa is available for all travelers from eligible countries such as the US, Australia, Canada and many European nations, including Greece, Cyprus, France and Germany.

Available for trips for tourism, business or transit purposes, the eVisa for Egypt is a single or multiple-entry visa and is valid for a maximum stay of 30 days.

“The Egypt e-Visa aims to simplify the process for visitors to Egypt to obtain the correct travel authorization,” Egypt’s eVisa website notes.

To apply for an Egypt e-Visa, applicants will need to complete a visa application online so that he/she may receive the approved e-Visa via email.

“The online Egyptian visa program will not only accelerate the process for visa applications prior to traveling but also improve the system of customs and border control upon arrival in Egypt.”
