Part of Delphi Archaeological Site, Museum to Operate on Tuesdays
Only a section of the archaeological site and the museum of Delphi will be open to visitors on Tuesdays, until the Ministry of Culture completes the procedure for the hiring of additional personnel.
According to a ministry announcement, the archaeological site will be accessible up to the temple of Apollo, while the visitors of the Archaeological Museum of Delphi will have access to the hall of the Charioteer and the temenos of Athena Pronaia. The total cost of the entry ticket will be 6 euros.
A previous decision by the culture ministry to keep the archaeological site and the museum of Delphi closed to visitors on Tuesdays throughout the winter season due to the lack of personnel sparked protests among local officials and tourism professionals. The Delphi municipal council issued a resolution saying the decision was “unacceptable and harmful for Greece”.
The Delphi Hoteliers Association “Phoebe Apollon” also opposed to the measure.
