Crete’s Nana Beach Receives “We do local” Certification for Third Year

The Nana Beach Hotel, located in the area of Hersonissos on Crete, received the “We do local” certification for the third year by Cosmocert for its continuous efforts to support local producers and the economy.

“The hotel received 855 points/1,000 points, fulfilling the requirements for its certification, while promoting the authentic Greek hospitality on all levels,” Nana Beach said in announcement.

“We do local” is a project first launched by local entrepreneurs on the island of Crete, in cooperation with the certification control body Cosmocert and Local Food Experts. The initiative has expanded to other locations in Greece and today counts approximately 30 certified members.

Through its operation, the Nana Beach Hotel is supporting the local production and employment by promoting the unique features of Crete, its gastronomy and customs, with respect to the environment and the island’s sustainable development.

The hotel aims to offer its visitors the experience of the authentic Cretan hospitality by bringing them closer to the local traditions and the Greek way of life, while preserving the environmental values.

Owned by the Karatzis Group of Companies, the Nana Beach Hotel counts more than 30 years of operation and is always seeking ways to upgrade its hospitality services and promote Cretan traditions. The “We do local” certification is one of the many the hotel receives every year for its efforts to promote sustainable development and offer experiences of superior quality to its guests, the hotel said.
