Aqua Vista Hotels Supports Sports Tourism in the Cyclades

Aqua Vista Hotels recently shared its expertise with hoteliers and property owners on how to promote a destination through special sporting events, during the successful Cyclades Trail Cup “Management, Online Communication and Marketing” workshop on September 18 on Andros.

Speaking on behalf of Aqua Vista Hotels was Business Development Manager, Sofia Matzourani, who shared the group’s experience regarding the opportunities that alternative sports tourism can bring to Greek destinations.

During the workshop, Matzourani provided know-how that can help sector professionals take advantage of events such as the Andros Trail Race, which will take place from September 30 to October 1.

According to Matzourani, such events can help professionals establish their destination for sports tourism globally. She also explained how the services of Aqua Vista Hotels before, during and after an event can help hoteliers draw attention to their activities. “By making athletes brand ambassadors and repeaters, occupancy can be increased and the season extended,” was among the very useful tips for professionals, provided by Matzourani.

Commenting on the workshop, Matzourani said: “There are a lot of ways in which hotels can take advantage of alternative sporting events, that take place off season in various locations around Greece. At Aqua Vista Hotels we are happy to share our knowledge and to let hoteliers know about the services we provide to help increase exposure and bookings during such athletic gatherings.”

The one-day presentation was held at the Chamber of Cyclades conference rooms in Vakoni, Andros, in collaboration with the Greek Travel Pages (GTP) and under the auspices of the Tourist Network of Andros, Cyclades. Other speakers included Charis Brousalian of GTP, Robert Karalis of the Cyclades Trail Cup, Ariana Masselo from Andros Trail Race, Gabriel Efstathiou of Zoottle and Ivy Adamakopoulou of Anavasi maps.

The Andros Trail Race is part of the Cyclades Trail Cup, which includes events on several islands (Naxos, Amorgos, Syros, Andros, Donousa and Tinos) and aims to highlight the natural beauty and special features of each island.
