Greece Called to Apply EU Rules for Passengers Traveling by Sea
The European Commission on Thursday requested for Greece to fully apply European Union rules on the rights of passengers traveling by sea and inland waterways in the EU.
According to the Commission, the Greek national legislation currently prevents passengers to fully benefit from the rights granted by Regulation 1177/2010 when their maritime passenger service is cancelled or delayed.
Greece now has two months to notify the Commission of the measures taken to correctly apply the Regulation; otherwise, the Commission may refer the case to the Court of Justice of the EU.
