Creta Maris Named ‘Platinum Level GreenLeader’ by TripAdvisor
The Creta Maris Beach Resort on Crete, was recently honored as a “Platinum level GreenLeader” by travel planning and booking site TripAdvisor, for its environmental program and sustainability initiatives.
With its Sustainability Program being the main pillar of its operation, Creta Maris’ annual activities focus on the improvement of its hospitality services and working conditions, the protection of the environment and the provision of information in order to raise public awareness on environmental issues.
“The ‘Platinum level GreenLeader’ award is one of the most important distinctions of a particular value, which proves that the resort is committed to sustainability and has met a set of environmental standards developed by TripAdvisor,” Creta Maris said in an announcement.
TripAdvisor’s “GreenLeaders Program” showcases a variety of eco-friendly hotels and B&Bs, from budget to luxury, which are committed to green practices like recycling, local and organic food and electric car charging stations. The program was developed in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program and the U.S. Green Building Council, among other leading environmental organizations.
