Creta Maris Holds ‘Blood Donation Day’ on Crete
Under the motto “Give blood, save lives”, the Creta Maris Beach Resort located in Heraklio on the island of Crete, recently held its annual “Blood Donation Day”, with the participation of 56 employees and members of the management team.
The event was held under the auspices of the Venizelio Pananeio – General Hospital of Heraklion.
The “Blood Donation Day” event is a way for Creta Maris Beach Resort to express its tangible social contribution, the resort said in an announcement. A total of 80 employees expressed their willingness to participate and 56 of them were finally able to do so, following the physician’s directions.
The Creta Maris Beach Resort’s blood donation program began in 1992 in order to meet the high demand of hospitals for blood, especially during the summer months.
The staff’s strong response resulted in the establishment of the annual program and the creation of a Blood Bank at the Venizelio Hospital of Heraklion. This serves dozens of surgeries and serious incidents, which hotel employees, first and second grade relatives also have access to when needed.
The Creta Maris Beach Resort belongs to the Metaxas Group of Companies and has been operating since 1975. It includes 680 rooms, suites and bungalows, six restaurants, seven bars, seven swimming pools, a gym, a hammam spa, the Asterias Children’s Club and open spaces for outdoor and indoor activities.
