Xenia 2017 Expo to Introduce Greek Hoteliers to Digital World at ‘Digi Hotel’ Event

Useful information and advice on digital technologies that can benefit the players in the Greek hospitality industry will be presented during the trademark Xenia exhibition to take place during November 25-27 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens.

According to organizer Forum SA, “Digi Hotel”, one of the main events of Greece’s most historic tourism trade show, will set the tone, reveal global trends, educate and inform Greek hoteliers on everything they need to know about the digital world.

A committee of experts, comprising Greek “gurus” from the fields of digital technologies and hospitality, is supervising and planning the program of the Digi Hotel event, which will take place for seven hours on a daily basis in a specially designed stage in Hall 2.

“Through constant meetings and consultations, the committee is in the process of planning and consolidating all points of interest for the modern hotelier, but also for all sector entrepreneurs who wish to reap the rewards of the digital revolution, and to improve, maximize and, ultimately, increase their sales and profitability,” Forum SA said in an announcement.

The members of the committee include Maria Theofanopoulou, President and CEO, Greek Travel Pages (GTP);  Giannis Kofinis, managing partner, ROLLERDECK ASSOCIATES;  Apostolis Aivalis, managing partner, Aival.com;  Dimitris Serifis, CEO, Nelios.com; Giannis Tsakalos, marketing director, Electra Hotel & Resort; Victor Matsas, sales manager, WebHotelier; and Nikos Charalambopoulos, vice president, HotelBrain. Honorary committee members include Nick Choudalakis, President & Managing Director, FORUM SA and Thanassis Gialousis, Vice-President, FORUM SA.

The core themes of Digi Hotel, in Xenia 2017, have already been decided and the committee is in the process of selecting the distinguished speakers who will cover all aspects of the subject matters with their knowledge and experience. Each thematic section will start with a “reflection” panel, where the subject will be analyzed in detail, followed by presentations that will include specific solutions.

Thematic sections include:

– Sales Distribution and Market Trends: The new ERA of hotel sales distribution
