Cine Creta Maris Reopens in Hersonissos, Crete
Cine Creta Maris, the open air cinema of the Creta Maris Beach Resort located in Hersonissos near Heraklio, Crete, on June 15 will open its doors for residents and visitors to enjoy the best international movies and premiers in a unique environment.
Launched 42 years ago by the resort, Cine Creta Maris is “a venue, which travels the mind and the soul, while awaking memories from our childhood and the old town of Hersonissos”, the Creta Maris Beach Resort said in announcement. “In recent years, it is considered a culturally protected institution and this is the main reason why we decided to reopen it.”
The spacious Cine Creta Maris is located within the premises of the Creta Maris Beach Resort and includes all the amenities required for an ideal summer movie night with friends or family.
It will screen movies in English with Greek subtitles (a movie twice a day and new films on Thursdays). The general admission ticket costs 8 euros, while a special 5-euro ticket is available for children, the unemployed and senior citizens. For group bookings of more than 15 persons the ticket costs 6 euros.
Creta Maris Beach Resort is part of the Metaxas’ Group of Companies and has been operating since 1975. It includes 680 rooms, suites and bungalows, six restaurants, seven bars, seven swimming pools, a gym, a hammam spa, the Asterias Children’s Club and spacious facilities for outdoor and indoor activities.
