Creta Maris Resort’s ‘Green Team’ Takes Environmental Action
Within the framework of its environmental program, “Clean Up the Med”, the Creta Maris Beach Resort on May 1 held its “Annual Beach Cleaning” activity, with the participation of employees and visitors.
The Creta Maris Green Team – the environmental group of Creta Maris Beach Resort – cleaned the Creta Maris – Kastri beach in Hersonissos, Crete and informed all participants on the importance of keeping the coastline clean. Employees and visitors then celebrated along with the young members of the resort’s Children’s Club “Asterias”.
The main objectives of the “Clean Up the MED” program are in line with the environmental requirements set by the “Blue Flag” program, run by the independent, non-profit organization, Foundation for Environmental Education. The Creta Maris – Kastri beach was once again awarded the “Blue Flag” in a ceremony held in Athens, by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, the program’s coordinator for Greece.
The Creta Maris Beach Resort is part of Metaxas’ Group of Companies and has been operating since 1975. It has a capacity of 680 rooms, suites and bungalows and includes six restaurants, seven bars, seven swimming pools, a gym, the Hammam spa, the “Asterias” Children’s Club and various spaces for outdoor and indoor activities.
