Air Canada Powers New Online Shopping and Booking Experience with Amadeus Technology

Amadeus, a global travel technology company, has partnered with Air Canada to offer the airline’s customers a more simple, better, quicker and accurate way to shop for a flight online through a new and improved booking experience.

Air Canada recently unveiled the all-new aircanada.com featuring a new, responsive design, improved booking flow and enhanced search options for travellers. Amadeus’ technology will support the airline’s strategy of continued innovation and enhancement of its online retail channel.

“Our vision was to give Air Canada customers the best online shopping experience possible while also advancing our future-focus on continued global expansion,” said Lise Fournel, Chief Information Officer, Air Canada, adding that Amadeus’ technology and expertise brought their vision to reality.

Air Canada’s completely re-engineered website offers simple and intuitive search and shopping. Benefits include a simplified booking flow with fewer steps, including advanced seat selection; more and better search options, including multi-airport search capability; responsive design which delivers mobile- and touch-screen-friendly use across any device, whether smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop; and enhanced site navigation and a choice of seven languages and 25 worldwide editions.

Via aircanada.com, consumers can quickly find the flights, fares and services that best meet their needs, while opening up new selling opportunities for the airline. Future website enhancements include additional languages and editions, new mobile features and search functionality based on attributes beyond just date and destination.
