Air Europa Opens Routes to Boston and Honduras in 2017
Spanish airline Air Europa has announced that it will launch two new routes in its international network in 2017, thus reinforcing its current expansion and growth plans. As of April, Air Europa will launch flights from Madrid to San Pedro Sula and from June to September it will also fly to Boston.
A SkyTeam alliance member, the company last year introduced 25 new routes, four from Air Europa and another 21 code-sharing alliances.
“With the addition of these two cities, the company will now fly to 20 destinations in America and will be established as a leading airline between America and Europe”, Air Europa said in an announcement.
These two Air Europa routes join the other four routes inaugurated last year, connecting Madrid with Zurich, Bogotá, Guayaquil (Ecuador) and the Argentine city of Córdoba. In 2016, Air Europa also opened flights to 21 new destinations in Europe, Asia, Oceania and South America thanks to its code-sharing alliances.
Air Europa will also pursue new code-sharing agreements both in Asia and in Europe this year.
Arrival of new Boeing 787 Dreamliners
The expansion plan of the air division of Globalia includes the renovation of its fleet, which will incorporate a total of 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet airliners before 2022. Air Europa already has five of these aircraft which cover the routes to Miami, Bogotá, Santo Domingo and Buenos Aires. This year it will receive another two for the routes to Havana and Lima.
The arrival of the Dreamliners, making Air Europa the first Spanish airline to purchase this next generation airliner, has coincided with the carrier’s 30th anniversary and represents a new chapter in the history of the company.
Air Europa, in line with its aim to be one of the world’s best airlines, wants to offer its passengers a unique flying experience. It has recently carried out significant upgrades to its on-board services, including Wifi in all long haul flights, the refurbishment of its Business Class in three Airbus 330, with the incorporation of the new flat-bed seats and the same services as Dreamliners, and organic and sustainable food in its menus.
The new Air Europa SUMA loyalty programme allows passengers to obtain and exchange miles in all flights operated by the company, in its associated companies and in airlines belonging to the SkyTeam alliance.
