January 2017 Events at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) has announced that it will continue its events in January and fill the first month of the year with music, art, guided tours and many other activities for children and adults.

2017 is a pivotal year for the SNFCC as it is the year in which the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera will move to their new premises. Also, in 2017 the SNFCC will be fully operational and will unfold all its functional aspects in order to welcome its members and visitors.

The SNFCC opened to the public in the summer of 2016 and since then has hosted many events that combined athletic, educational and artistic activities for all ages and interests.

“Thousands of visitors became the source of inspiration and encouragement in SNFCC’s continuous attempt to get more involved in the everyday life of our community, city and country”, the SNFCC said in an announcement.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation will hand over the SNFCC to the Greek State in early 2017. During the transition phase, the Foundation said it will continue its mission to introduce the project to the public through a daily and dynamic program of free public events that offers visitors an opportunity to experience SNFCC’s programmatic potential and its place as an urban destination for everyone.

All the events are made possible through the exclusive support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, which is presently in charge of the project, until the completion of the delivery process to the Greek State.
