The sites, sounds and tastes of Epirus take center stage this month on all Aegean Airlines flights under its ongoing “Closer to Greece” initiative.

Passenger traveling Aegean will have the chance through to January 5 to sample unique products from Epirus as well as dishes inspired by local cuisine. Some of the delicacies on offer include the renowned “Yianniotika” baklava and kataifi sweets as well as popular Christmas honey treats “melomakarona” on all Christmas and New Year’s flights.

Meanwhile, Aegean Business Lounge will be serving the famed Epirot cheese and spinach pies, hors d’oeuvres with local feta and Metsovone cheese, chestnut and walnut spoon sweets, as well as a variety of syrupy pastries.

During its flights, Aegean will be screening travel programs showcasing the  Epirus region and its offerings.

Aegean and Olympic Air have also launched their collaboration with Epirus-based businesses so that Miles+Bonus holders can gain from special discounts and exclusive offers. In the Epirus town of Ioannina and across the Zagori villages, Miles+Bonus works with Hotel Du Lac Congress Center & Spa, Grand Serai Congress & Spa Hotel, Hotel Kalari Heritage, Epirus Palace Hotel, Aristi Mountain Resort & Villas, Astra Inn and Papaevangelou Hotel.
