Christmas Comes Early for Romanian Children with Ryanair

Ryanair last week held its first ever Santa flight in Romania, flying 150 children from Craiova to Bucharest, onboard a specially chartered Ryanair Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The children are under the care of Dolj County’s Social Assistance and Child Protection Authority and it was the first time many of them had been on board a plane.

“We hope this experience has given the children some special memories and we wish all of our Romanian customers a very happy Christmas and peaceful 2017”, Denis Barabas, Sales & Marketing Romania, Ryanair, said.

Romanian MEP Marian-Jean Marinescu accompanied the children and they also visited the Bucharest Christmas Market and the Antipa Museum, before meeting Santa Claus.

Marinescu thanked the carrier for the “unforgettable present” for the children from Craiova. “Usually you are connecting towns and people; with this present you are connecting souls. I am grateful for participating in this event”, she said.
