Hotel Grande Bretagne Kicks Off Holiday Season with Christmas Tree Lighting
The Hotel Grande Bretagne officially kicked off the holiday season on Monday, December 5, with the ceremonial lighting of its Christmas tree in the lobby.
The ceremony included Christmas carols performed by the children’s choir of the Athens Conservatory with the event’s highlight being the Christmas tree itself. Decorated with impressive garlands, rare ornaments and more than 5,000 lights, the massive Christmas tree creates a unique festive scene in the lobby.
The event also marked the launch of a special fund raising campaign to support the scholarship program “Young Musicians” of the Athens Conservatory.
From January 1, 2017, and for four months, 1 euro will be added to each receipt issued at the GB Roof Garden and Tudor Hall restaurants — with the customers’ consent — and be donated to the program.
“We aim to help the important cultural and educational program of the Athens Conservatory, giving children between the ages of 5-12 the opportunity to gain access to musical education and the joy of artistic creativity”, the management of the Grande Bretagne said in an announcement.
