Lloyd’s List: Minoan Lines Honored with Passenger Line of the Year 2016 Award

Minoan Lines was honored with the “Passenger Line of the Year” award at Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2016 held recently in Athens. The awards ceremony was held at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel on December 2.

In its 13th year, the awards are held to recognise and reward achievement and meritorious activity in the Greek shipping industry as well as to promote Greece’s status as a maritime centre.

“This exceptional distinction is of great significance and represents a great honor for our company given the respected reputation and high profile of the said institution and the high competition in the respective sector”, an announcement by Minoan Lines said.

A member of the Grimaldi Group, Minoan Lines was recognized as one of the leading socially aware and constantly evolving companies in Greek passenger shipping. The company was awarded for the high level of services it provides to passengers on its fleet of High Speed Cruise Ferries, its leading position on the routes it operates, its recent strategic investment moves (strengthening its participation in the share capital of Hellenic Seaways with more than 48 percent) and its impressive finance results for the first half of 2016, considered the “best ever” since its establishment.

“It is truly a great honor, an exceptional distinction and another great achievement for our company”, the company’s managing director, Antonis Maniadakis, said when receiving the award.

This is the second time Minoan Lines’ was honored with the “Passenger Line of the Year” award by Lloyd’s List.
