The Greek market was recently introduced to the “new” Alitalia, its services and new destinations of 2016, during an event held at the Italian Embassy in Athens on November 24.

Alitalia’s “Business-Mixer” event was held in the presence of the Italian Ambassador in Greece, Efisio Luigi Marras, and with the contribution of Athens International Airport (AIA). Guests included representatives of travel agencies, the media, the Italian Embassy, AIA and the Alitalia Team.

The event was hosted by the airline’s new country manager, George Athanasiou, who presented the new product following a video projection of the “Made of Italy” campaign.

Athanasiou highlighted all of the airline’s significant changes, the upgrading of the product as well as the remarkable on time performance of the Italian airline flights, which are the outcome of the ambitious and huge investment that began in 2015 when the new Alitalia started operations.

During his speech, Athanasiou informed of the airline’s new destinations of 2016 — Santiago de Chile, Mexico, Beijing, Havana and Tenerife — and invited guests to continue to support Alitalia in its upward journey to excellence.

The “Business-Mixer” event was full of Italian aroma and taste. Guests enjoyed tasty dishes inspired by Italian cuisine and with the accompaniment of Italian music. Moreover, they admired the new Alitalia uniforms and were photographed in virtual simulation in a tailored photo-booth, named “Alitalia’s Business Class”.

Alitalia is a member of the SkyTeam alliance and collaborates with the other Etihad Airways Partners — airberlin, Air Serbia, Air Seychelles, Etihad Airways, Etihad Regional operated by Darwin Airline, Jet Airways and NIKI — in order to offer customers more choice through improved networks and schedules and enhanced frequent flyer benefits.
