South Aegean Region Aims to Impress at WTM London 2016
The South Aegean Region will once again give visitors to the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2016 a grand welcome once they reach the ExCeL Center entrance. For the second year, a digital pyramid consisting of electronic screens will play high quality videos starring the islands of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese. WTM London 2016 will run November 7-9.
At this year’s WTM, the South Aegean Region will participate with its own stand — no. EU 1155 — and give all the Aegean islands the chance to promote their tourist product to professionals from all tourism sectors and from different parts of the world.
The region aims to make its presence felt at WTM London 2016 and has announced that it will successfully combine the particular features of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese in a modern exhibit stand. The region’s stand this year will incorporate a variety of electronic media in order to pass on the “feeling” of the Aegean islands to WTM visitors.
Greek islands participating within the stand of the South Aegean Region will include Ios, Paros, Santorini, Folegandros, Milos, Antiparos, Tinos, Serifos, Amorgos, Mykonos and Andros from the Cyclades group and Rhodes, Kos, Kalymnos, Leros, Patmos and Astypalea from the Dodecanese group.
During WTM, the South Aegean Region will also hold a special event for over 100 journalists from UK media in an aim to fully display its tourism product and its image of a multifaceted destination.
“WTM is one of the most important tourism fairs internationally. Aiming to make an impressive showing, the South Aegean Region will use all modern means to make its presence felt and to highlight the uniqueness of the South Aegean destinations and its ‘Aegean Islands-Like No Other’ identity”, said Marietta Papavasileiou, Vice Governor of Tourism for the Region of South Aegean.
The Greek Travel Pages (GTP) is an official media partner of WTM London 2016.
